Selling or closing a contact center
Contact center for sale: what happens to the interaction data
Updated
A contact center sold as a going concern, or closed and wound up, carries years of interaction records. What can move with it depends on the platforms that hold them and the clients behind the contacts.
Will the platform hand the records back?
Few platforms on the board promise a route back. Yellow.ai says it will tell you in advance and help you retrieve your data if your account ends. Vapi's terms warn that you may lose access to the account and its files.
Copies that stay with the platform
4 of 8 platforms keep aggregated or anonymised use. Dixa may disclose data only in an aggregated and anonymised format, and Vapi compiles anonymised statistics on all use of its platform.
Ways a sale of the records can be structured
A trading operator can license its records and keep them. For a UK company in a wind-down, the directors decide only until a liquidator or administrator takes office, and that office-holder sells from then on; if a winding-up petition is presented to the court first, a sale after it is void if the company is then wound up, unless the court allows it; and a dissolved company's remaining property goes to the Crown as bona vacantia. An adviser can also introduce the deal to us. Pick the route that fits in the enquiry form.
